Domain Acquisition

To purchase a Domain, a Purchase Agreement is filled out and signed by both parties. Typically, we prepare and sign the document and mail it to you for your signature and return to us, with the check.

Here is a copy of the basic Domain Purchase Agreement.

Once the Agreement is signed by both parties, funds can be transferred in one of several ways.
  1. By including a check with the signed and returned Purchase Agreement.
  2. By wire transfer to our account.
  3. By Credit Card through PayPal
  4. If desired, through an Escrow Account. We use Escrow.com for escrowed transaction. The Buyer pays escrow fees.
For the Transfer to occur, you will need to have or open an account with a Registrar of your choice. We can help you with this procedure if you are unfamiliar with the process. Some good, Tier 1 Registrars are:
  • NetworkSolutions.com
  • GoDaddy.com
  • AITDomains.com
  • UniRegistry.com
You will be applying for a "Transfer In" of a Domain name. Don't hesitate to use their customer support number or chat session for assistance. This process can be a bit challenging for the uninitiated.

Typically, here is how the process works.

Once funds have cleared our account or Escrow, we will "unlock" the Domain you have purchased from us and request an Authorization Code to Transfer Out from our Registrar (either AITDomains.com or GoDaddy.com). Your Registrar account should be set up before we do this.
  1. We receive the "Auth. Code" from our Registrar and forward it to you via e-mail.
  2. You will provide your Registrar with the "Auth. Code" you received from us.
  3. Then, or possibly even before… your Registrar will send us a Confirmation code via the e-mail of record i(ours) n the ICANN registry database.
  4. We will approve the transfer request by returning the Confirmation Code to you for you to pass back to your Registrar.
  5. You will give your Registrar's Confirmation Code (that was sent to us… & then back to your) to them.
At that point, the transfer will be completed by your Registrar and your ownership of the Domain should be reflected in your newly registered ownership record for the Domain you just acquired in 24 - 72 hours.

Once your new Domain is in the ICANN database, you may need to complete the (new) registration process by updating the Domain record with your contact information. Be sure to do this. Also, since you are planning to put up a website (we assume) under this Domain, you will need to enter the Nameserver entries for the web hosting service that will host your website.

If you are planning to put up a new website but don't have technical assistance for this, we can help. We have been developing websites since 1995.
