Lido Isle

Lido Isle is an all residential island in the north west end of Newport Harbor that is accessed by a single bridge onto a road that loops the isle. The road is broken into 2 names... Via Lido Soud and Via Lido Nord. The outer side of the road has only waterfront, or bayfront properties all the way around. The interior side of the road has "near the water" homes... most with some view of Newport Bay.

Lido Isle is not guard-gated... full public access, though it is not equipped to handle tourists like the rest of Newport Beach. Just drive around the outer loop for a look at the possibilities.

If ever there was a more perfect place to live and raise your children... it is here, right on Lido Isle in Newport Beach. I know this because I lived here from 1987 to 1995. It is heaven on earth and the friends our family and children made when we lived here are our friends to this day.

Crossing the island from Via Lido Nord to Via Lido Soud are a series of parallel roads, roughly named in alphabetical order... from Via Antibes, then Via Barcelona, etc. on the northwest end to Via Yella, Via Zurich, etc. at the south east end.

There is a central road called Piazza Lido that is "a road" - between Via Eboli (yes... I know - but it was named before we had heard of the disease and the "i" must mean it stands for something else) and Via Koron. At either end, Piazza Lido turns into a walkway commonly called "The Estrada."

There is a resident Lido Isle Yacht Club and at least 2 dry dock boat yards on the south side (Via Lido Soud) for smaller watercraft. On the north side (Via Lido Nord) is a small public beach... mostly suited for Munchkins (playground equipped) and public viewing of the Newport Bay - and especially the Christmas Boat Parade each December. There are also several public access docks and greenbelts here and there around Lido Isle.

Lido Isle has a Lido Isle Community Association that manages the public facilities (club house, tennis courts, boat yards, etc.) of the community and provides leadership and management for a variety of year round and seasonal activities.

There is an "official" Lido Isle website at LidoIsle.com which provides an enjoyable presentation of the community, its facilities and Lido Isle Real Estate information.
